My Story
Thank you for supporting my DOUBLE WHAMMY Skydive & Abseil weekend challenge and donating toward crucial services across Rose Road.
I call Rose Road my heroes.
My Jamey-Lee, or Jay, is the happiest kid. She doesn’t need words to show her joy—she giggles. Loud sounds make her light up, and the louder I am, the more she laughs. Since she’s visually impaired, sound is her world.
But as Jay grows—she’s 16 now—her medical needs are becoming more complex. But we’re in a good place thanks to Rose Road.
I get a restful night’s sleep every week, I have an evening where I can spend quality time with her younger sister Maggie, I can breathe and even take time for myself when I’ve always put myself last. Rose Road are saving me every week. It's been a struggle, sometimes it feels like I’ve spent 16 years fighting for something that is Jay’s right, but Rose Road were with me the whole way.
The money raised from this event helps more hcildren children and young people like Jay with complex disabilities access overnight stays, community outreach, and activities.
My challenge contributes to families and carers having the opportunity for respite, support and advice. Not only do families who use Rose Road thrive and love attending Rose Road, many parents have described it as a 'lifeline'.
Donate and gift another day of Rose Road to hundreds of families across our community, helping young people climb new heights and reach for the sky!
