Rose Roadies Le Jog cycle challenge

The Rose Roadies

The Rose Roadies

My Story

On 2nd June 2026 a group of 6 veterans aged 60 - 81 will be setting off to cycle from Land’s End (the most south westerly point in the UK) to John O’Groats (the most north easterly point in the UK) in aid of the Rose Road Association.

We hope to raise £10,000 to enable up to 250 children and young adults with multiple complex disabilities and their carers to enjoy a sporting experience such as the inspiring Wetwheels boating experience, Pedall cycling experience or an alternative water experience such as swimming or kayaking.

The team will be funding the cost of the trip themselves so every pound raised will go to the nominated charities.

If you would like to advertise your business on the team shirts or team minibus please get in touch with Bruce Elkins who will be pleased to discuss options with you.

Whilst we all cycle for enjoyment, you will appreciate that cycling 70+ miles every day for 14 days in whatever weather that good old blighty throws at us will not be an easy challenge. We would therefore be extremely grateful for any sponsorship to support our challenge so that we can provide a sporting experience many of us take for granted, to a number of children and young adults.

For any keen cyclists, there will be an opportunity to join us for all or part of day 4 when we cycle from Clevedon to Worcester via Bristol. If you would like to join us please contact Bruce Elkins

We thank you for your continued support of Rose Road and associated charities.

We will be providing regular updates as the challenge unfolds and look forward to receiving your messages of support and encouragement.

Big thanks to Abacus car and van hire for the vehicle, Hwb Accountants, Dutton Gregory, Paris Smith and TJ Waste for their very generous sponsorships.
